About me

Profile Picture Grandma, Mom, Friend, Landscape Designer, Guitarist, Emergency Specialist & Motivator.
My grand children are the 6th generation to live in this town. That is pretty amazing! We have a long heritage of amazingly creative and talented people that have touched, and continue to touch our lives.

In my 20's I moved to Hawaii were I was the Program Director for a beach ministry. I also got my FCC license and was on the radio. I wrote music, sang in coffee houses, and worked with amazing people on the military bases during the Viet Nam era. I was also on staff at Kamehameha School for 4 years. My friends know that I still have a "Hawaiian heart".

After moving back to Fresno I was the Director of Sales & Marketing for an educational company that my father helped establish. I enjoyed being a part of an educational trade organization, NSSEA for 18 years and was on the Executive Board, Board of Directors, and chaired many committees. I learned from the best, and worked with the best in the educational industry and also learned valuable information about being a publisher.

During my 40's I started losing family members and close friends. Twelve over a period of 5 years. I established AGL Publishing on 10/1/99 and began to write about those experiences. My first book The Next 48 Hours was born. Thousands of people were given tools as they faced the passing of family members. The book was simply a way to deal with legal and financial issues 48 hours after someone dies.

After Hurricane Katrina, I saw people leaving New Orleans, facing the same issues my family faced. They needed documents to prove who they were and what they owned. My Life in a Box...A Life Organizer was written to help people locate all of their personal, legal and financial documents and put them in one portable file. That way, in case of any natural disaster, home fire, or personal emergency, they could leave their home in 5 minutes with everything they need to rebuild their lives.

I look back at the experiences I have had. Some great, some good, and some not so good. It all makes up a huge life quilt of who I am and what I do.

Losing each of those special people was tough. I could not have gotten through those 5 years without the love of my family, friends and my faith.

Now, today I speak at military bases, businesses, churches and with individuals around the world about the value of being prepared. My motto is Be prepared...Get Organized...and Stop Procrastinating.
