About me
Thanks to Ariel Coro, The Digital Spokesperson for the Hispanic Community, technology is no longer a barrier to a better life for millions of Hispanics. Ariel has made it possible for ordinary people to understand technology and how to capitalize on its limitless benefits.
He divides his times between consulting with businesses, public speaking and educating the public. Known in the consumer electronics industry for his expertise in understanding the relationships among technology, applications, interfaces and how people interact with them, Ariel's ability to communicate with his audience has made him a sought after speaker and consultant for companies that want to reach Hispanics.
Every weekend and Monday during the Prime Time news cast on Univision's flagship station KMEX in Los Angeles, Ariel hosts Tu TecnologĂa, a segment that educates Hispanic consumers on the latest gadgets and consumer electronic products in an entertaining and informative way. Ariel's ability to synthesize complex theoretical technology concepts and teach people in a manner that they can understand and enjoy, has earned him the trust and admiration of his viewers. As a side project, he founded Tutecnologia.com which has become a thriving online community where Hispanics learn, share and get their questions answered in a variety of technology related subjects. A tech guru with more than a decade of real world experience, he is widely recognized as a national expert in consumer electronics, social media, marketing and is a sought after consultant due to his uncommon business insights. He is also a founding member of the Convergence Technology Council and serves on its executive board.
Ariel_Coro_Orador_Hispano_Hispanic_Latino_SpeakerAriel's life story demonstrates the power of ingenuity and problem solving especially when one's resources are limited. Born in Havana, Cuba, Ariel enjoyed learning about technology and electronics from an early age. At 15, he cobbled together one of the first homemade, illegal satellite dishes in the country-unbeknownst to the island's repressive regime and to the delight of his neighbors. Made from parts of an old Soviet radio, a coffee can, a mosquito net, and available electronic components, the dish worked as well as one made by any high-tech firm. He used the dish to watch television channels that were forbidden and meant only for the island's tourists and government officials. This access to information transformed Ariel's life. Not only did it educate him, but it also opened a window for him to the outside world. He ventured into the world of computers and was among the first people on the island to have access to e-mail. This eventually led him to flee the island at age 18. When he arrived in the U.S. with Ariel had a limited formal education, and was barely able to speak English but that didn't stop him.
Freedom offered him the opportunity to build a career with his technology and communication skills. He started a technology consulting business early on, which lead him to work for Check Point Software and The Space Telescope Science Institute where the Hubble Space Telescope is managed. In 2004 he arrived at Cisco Systems in California, where he consulted for large clients and communicated at key events and executive briefings on their behalf. In time, Ariel became a much sought-after leader in his field-a reputation he still enjoys today.
Ariel has been a featured speaker at numerous events including keynote addresses and workshops at national and international conferences. His speeches and workshops are charged with great sense of humor and content that audiences remember long after his presentation. This attribute has resulted in several accolades and audiences have consistently voted him among the top presenters.
Ariel's mission is to educate Hispanics so they can lose fear and embrace technology. He firmly believes that the adoption and successful application of technology can improve, nurture and even save people's lives.... After all, it saved his...
